Sunflower requires precipitation during the growing period and hot weather conditions during the ripening period. Sunflower is the most used product in vegetable oil production in Turkiye. Sunflower is also used as a snack (sunflower seed) and animal feed. It is grown everywhere in Turkiye except the Eastern Black Sea region, which receives plenty of precipitation.
